ELIGIBILITY: 
To be eligible for the Canadian National Badminton Championship, all athletes must meet the following requirements:
1. Be a Canadian citizen. Citizenship must be authorized by a valid Canadian passport.
2. Be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age as of January 1st in the year of the event.
3. Be a student who is registered for and pursuing a full programme of study leading towards a degree or diploma at a post-secondary institution.
or Be a former student who has graduated from a post-secondary institution as a student in good standing, in the year preceding the event.
4. Must be a member of a P/TSO.
The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada and the BWF.

Friday morning-Team event qualification round
Friday afternoon-Singles qualification round
Friday night-Team semifinal

Saturday morning – XD qualification round
Saturday afternoon-Doubles qualification round
Saturday night – Team event final and 3/4 playoff 

Sunday morning – Individual finals

EVENTS:
Team Event :
The top 3 College/University teams from each conference will receive an invitation to play the National Championship.
In the case that not enough teams register for the event. Two additioinal spots might be allocated for TEAMS made up of individual players who are already registered to participate in the championship and are interested in being placed in a team.

Individual event:
Open events will be held in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Badminton Canada will be utilizing the Tournament Software online registration system.
Consolations will be held for all competitors defeated in their first round match of the main event. It will be the responsibility of each athlete to notify the draw desk, within 30-minutes of their opening round defeat.
Consolation rounds offered time permitting. Main draw will take precedent over consolation draws.

TOURNAMENT FEE:
Team entry fee-$200
Single Tournament Entry Fee of $125 includes :
1. All shuttles during tournament play
2. Participation in up to three events: singles, doubles and mixed
3. Social event: TBD
a. Free for all players, referees and Umpires
b. $25 for all other individuals wishing to attend
4. Payment and documentation is required at time of on-line registration.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Refunds are provided less a 25% administration fee to entrants who withdraw prior to the entry deadline of the event.
After the deadline, but prior to the draws being made, refunds are provided less a 50% administrative fee.
Refunds will not be provided after the draws are made.
Full refunds will be made for injuries that make it impossible for an athlete to compete provided documentation from a doctor is provided.

ENTRY DEADLINE:
The tournament entry deadline is Friday, February26th, 2016 at 11:59pm EST.
Each player must complete their entry online 

Unpaid entries will not be included in the draws.
Entries received via mail, fax or regular email will not be accepted.
LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

PRIZES AND SHUTTLES:
Medals will be provided to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Official shuttle will be YONEX feather shuttle.
Shuttles will be provided for all matches.

SEEDING: 
Seeding will be conducted by a panel of CCAA and CIS coaches.

RULES: 
The 21-Rally Point scoring format will be utilized. Three-minute warm-up and ten minute default will be strictly enforced. The use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play.
