Calgary Youth Program - Spring 2024 at West Dalhousie School

Badminton Alberta is pleased to announce it will continue to offer badminton instructional classes throughout the City of Calgary on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and Saturday's mornings.

Badminton Alberta will offer 10-weeks of lessons in the spring 2024 session at West Dalhousie Community School, covering two age categories: Child 7-11 years of age and Youth 12-17 years of age:

Venue: West Dalhousie Community School is located at 6502 - 58 Street NW, Calgary, T3A 2C8.

Dates: Monday- April 8, 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 27, June 3, 10, 2024. (No Lesson- May 20, 2024).

Cost: $210.00 per 10-week child session and $231.00 + GST ($11.55) = $242.55 per 10-week youth session.

Maximum class size: 24 students on 6 courts

Payment: Each registrant will be required to submit payment at the time of registration.

Refund/Withdrawal Deadline Policy: is 5 business days prior to the event start and is subject to a $25.00 admin fee. No refunds/withdrawals or transfers on or after the start date.

The child program is designed to develop proper technique, including eye, hand, foot cooordination. The introduction of various skills and drills to develop agility and motor skills used in the game of badminton. The youth program is designed to develop players technique. Various drills are used on court for further development of footwork and individual shots around the four corners of the court.Various drills and skills on court will futher introduce tactics for singles and doubles game play. This program meets the needs of beginner players development as well as to challenge players that have previous badminton experience and want to advance their technique and tactics on court. Classes are small and may be grouped according to ability. Each level is a progression from the previous level.  Each practice consists of instruction followed by game simulation and modified games.
