Calgary Youth Program - Winter 2025 at Hawkwood School
Badminton Alberta is pleased to announce it will continue to offer badminton instructional classes throughout the City of Calgary on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and Saturday's.
Badminton Alberta will offer - 9 weeks of lessons in the 2025 Winter session at Hawkwood School, covering two age categories: Child 7-11 years of age and Youth 12-17 years of age:
Venue: Hawkwood School is located at 650 Hawkwood Blvd NW, Calgary, T3G 2V7.
Dates: Wednesday January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19, 26, March 5, 2025. (No Lesson- N/A)
Cost: Child $193.50 per -week session and Youth $211.50 + GST ($10.58) will be added at checkout= $222.08 per 9-week session.
Maximum class size: 12 students on 3 courts
Payment: Each registrant will be required to submit payment at the time of registration on our Active Net registration site.
Refund/Withdrawal/Transfer Deadline Policy: Withdrawal/Refund deadline is 5 business days prior to the event start and is subject to a $25.00 Admin fee. No refunds/withdrawals or transfers on or after the start date. We do not allow parents or spectators in the gym during the lesson. No exceptions.
The child program is designed to develop proper technique, including eye, hand, foot coordination. The introduction of various skills and drills used to develop agility and motor skills used in the game of badminton. The youth program is designed to develop players technique. Various drills are used on court for further development of footwork and individual shots around the four corners of the court. Various drills and skills on court will further introduce tactis for singles and doubles game play. This program meets the needs of beginner players development as well as challenge players that have previous badminton experience and want to advance their tecnique and tactics on court. Class sizes are small and may be grouped according to ability. Each level is a progression from the previous level. Each practice consists of instruction followed by game simulation and modified games.
