History of Badminton Alberta
History
The Alberta Badminton Association is registered as a non-profit society and has been incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta since August 28, 1928.
Effective September 21, 1991 the association began operating under the trade name of Badminton Alberta.
Badminton Alberta is the non-profit sport governing body for badminton in Alberta. The association maintains an accurate database consisting of over 7,000 registered members and 350 affiliated clubs and schools. The association operates a number of programs for players, coaches and officials, including the hosting of six provincial championships.
The association receives funding for its programs and operation from the Alberta Government - Sport Branch. Badminton Alberta is a member of Badminton Canada and the Badminton World Federation.
