Coronavirus (COVID-19) impact on Badminton Alberta programs

 

 

 

At Badminton Alberta, the health and safety of our members and our member clubs is a top priority.

We understand that many of our members have questions or concerns regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19).  It is important that we increase awareness on this topic to ensure a healthy and safe playing environment for all participants at Badminton Alberta events including training and competitive tournaments.

Please review the provided links below:

Effective immediately, Badminton Alberta has cancelled or postponed all programs including lessons and tournaments until at least April 15th. Therefore the following tournaments have been cancelled or postponed:

  • YONEX AJC Silver - Badminton Alberta Junior at University of Calgary (March 13-14) - postponed - new date to be determined once Alberta Health Services has approved large gatherings; once again;
  • Calgary Winter Club Masters Doubles tournament (March 13-15) - cancelled;
  • YONEX Alberta Closed Championships at the Derrick Club (March 20-22) - postponed - new date to be determined once Alberta Health Services has approved large gatherings;
  • YONEX AJC GOLD - Gao Junior at Smashcity Calgary (March 27-29) - postponed - new date to be determined once Alberta Health Services has approved large gatherings;
  • YONEX Alberta Junior Closed Championships at Abbey Centre in Blackfalds (April 15-17) - postponed - new date to be determined once Alberta Health Services has approved large gatherings;

All lessons offered through The Badminton Academy in Calgary area are cancelled for the SPRING session due to the city-wide closure of all public schools, universities and public recreation centres.

Additional information regarding the refund of all program fees and tournament registration fees will be sent directly to each participant.
