Badminton Academy - Youth Program - Fall 2025 at Southland Leisure Centre

Badminton Alberta is pleased to announce it continues to offer instructional badminton classes on selected Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings throughout the City of Calgary.
Badminton Alberta will offer 14-weeks of lessons in the Spring 2025 session located at Southland Leisure Centre, covering two age categories: 7-11 years of age and Option #1- 12-17, NEW- Option #2- 12- 17 years of age:
Venue: Southland Leisure Centre is located at 2000 Southland Dr SW, Calgary, T2V 4S4.
Friday Dates: Friday- September 12, 19, 26, October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, November 7, 14, 21, 28, December 5, 12, 2025 (No Missed Dates).
Cost: Child $315.00 for 14-week session or Youth $339.50 + GST ($16.98) will be added at checkout for 14-week session.
Maximum class size: 16 students on 4 courts
Payment: Each registrant will be required to submit payment at the time of registration.
Refund/Withdrawal/Transfer Deadline Policy: is 5 business days prior to the event start and subject to a $25.00 admin fee. No refunds/withdrawals or transfers on or after the start date. No Exceptions.
The child program is designed to develop proper technique, including eye, hand, foot coordination.The introduction of various skills and drills to develop agility and motor skill used in the game of badminton. The youth program is designed to develop players technique. Various skills and drills are used on court for further development of footwork and individual shots around the four corners of the court. Various drills and skills on court will further introduce tactics for singles and doubles game play. This program meets the needs of of beginner players development as well as challenge players that have previous badminton experinece and want to advance their tecnique and tactics on court. Class sizes are small and may be grouped according to ability. Each level is a progression from the previous level. Each practice consists of instruction followed by game simulation and modified games.
